Introduction

Dear visitor,

Welcome to our website, dedicated to the aircrew of the Liberator B24-H "Jolly Duck" with aircraft number 42-95241. We are Maarten Havinga and Sylvan Staub and we investigate all about the crashlanding on February 22 1945 of the "Jolly Duck" for more than a decade now. Our site is made in the Dutch language but we consider to translate the whole site also in English, but that will take some time and we dont know when it is finished yet. On this site we explain everything that happend with the aircrew and the bomber. We did multiple digs, where we found pieces of the bomber wich some of them are in very good shape. In our search for information we contacted several researchers around the world and for www.b24.net we delivered lots of information for their article about John McCormick. John McCormick was the right waistgunner in the B24 and is the only one who eventually didn't survive, but was killed by the Germans. John McCormick is buried in our town which is called Zoetermeer. The crewmen of nine people of the Jolly Duck were:

1/Lt Joseph R. Walker, pilot
2/Lt Ralph C. Casstevens, copilot
1/Lt John J. Donohue, bombardier-navigator
S/Sgt Harold A. Shea, nose gunner
Sgt Francis J. Nagle, radio operator
S/Sgt Allan W. Hicks, engineer
S/Sgt John E. McCormick, right waist gunner
S/Sgt John A.H. Lingle, left waist gunner
S/Sgt Elmer E. Duerr, tail gunner
